Dear Propelled Woman,
As 2024 winds down, I find myself reflecting on what has been nothing short of a roller-coaster year filled with magnificent milestones, both personally and professionally. When the year began, I carried a short list of goals into January, but one bold theme stood out: Obedience.
I resolved to listen closely to the leading of the Holy Spirit, trust my instincts, and boldly follow the path of my convictions. Let me tell you; it’s been a journey of stretching, pruning, and stepping far beyond the cozy borders of my comfort zone.
In January, I embraced the year with enthusiasm and cautious optimism, taking small but deliberate strides. I began my journey toward becoming a certified coach, a process that stretched my skills and deepened my sense of purpose. February brought the opportunity to mentor working mothers with young children under five years old, an enriching experience that taught me as much as I gave. March was a whirlwind of achievements: I officially became a certified coach, speaker, and trainer, landed my first paid speaking engagement, and was featured in an International Women’s Day media post by a global organization.
April was transformative, kicking off with a 7-day mentoring boot camp for teenage girls. Later that month, I celebrated the birthday of my Pro Coach, an event that brought me into a circle of amazing women and gifted me with profound shifts in mindset and purpose. In May, I traveled to mark the 40th birthday of my dear friend, Dr. V, only to find myself in a trying season for my extended family shortly after. Yet, the challenges gave way to moments of joy as we celebrated two of my kids’ birthdays in June.
July had me flying to Ghana for my first international “Lunch and Learn” event in Accra, a milestone that solidified my confidence in taking my work across borders. August came with its highs and lows in my coaching firm, while September saw me juggling travels and proposal writing. I even submitted a manuscript as the first author, a significant milestone in my academic journey. October closed with a bang as I gave an oral presentation at an international research conference; a moment that underscored how far I’ve come this year.
In November, we hosted the 4th SHE Retreat, our largest and most impactful yet. Over 100 young women gathered under the theme: Edify, Enable, and Establish. Seven of these incredible women received financial support for their businesses and tuition. The month also marked the official launch of my book, Disburdening: Building Blocks for Releasing Past Pains; a labor of love that I am deeply proud of.
And now, here we are in December. While I’m still soaking in the lessons and victories of the year, and this quote comes more alive to me
Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof – Ecclesiastes 7:8.
I’m planning something powerful for us to wrap up the year meaningfully and set the stage for an even more purposeful 2025. As we prepare to step into a new year, I want to celebrate with you.
